Silvermine Golf Club, located on North Seir Hill Rd, is a 27 hole oasis for relaxed family golf. Since its founding in1959 as a 9 hole course, by a golf enthusiast weary of long rounds at municipal courses but unwilling to commit to a traditional country club, Silvermine has grown into a full-service facility dedicated solely to the sport of golf.

The original course, now known as the Pro Shop nine, offers unrestricted, relatively rapid play, as is ideal for families, beginners, and junior golfers. The 18 hole course features narrow landing areas and a number of water hazards, providing a challenging round for novice and scratch golfer alike. With membership capped at 400, members are assured easy access to tees. For those stalwart souls unfazed by winter weather, the Pro Shop nine remains open to member play year-round.

Silvermine's award-winning Junior Golf program stresses skills and golfing etiquette to equip young players with a life-long love of the game. The Club hosts the yearly Junior Met PGA Tournament and sponsors several events for young golfers.

Three Class A PGA certified Pros, lead by Head Pro Stuart Waack, preside over the golf program, which features numerous tournaments, member-guest events, and a full calendar of instructional clinics as well as individual lessons.

The Silvermine Grille, operated by Dan Montanari of South Norwalk's Sono Brewhouse, is open throughout the golfing season. The large covered open-air verandah is a particularly popular place to dine.

Silvermine is available for Monday outings accommodating groups as large as 125 people. With various course options and a varied catering menu, Silvermine promises a memorable golfing experience for your party.

And the highest point in Norwalk? The sixteenth hole, a short par four with spectacular views of Norwalk and the Long Island Sound, marked by stone obelisk denoting its precise geographical location - but some would say that it's Silvermine Golf Club itself.
