WMGA Team Updates

Silvermine’s Women’s MET Team are a resilient group:  They compete no matter the conditions; torrential rain, sub zero temps, gale force winds and when significantly out-matched on paper, such as at their third match, at and against Westchester Country Club.  Silvermine was awesome; though it wasn’t reflected in the match points earned.

To give you a sense of the competition, the SUM of the indexes of the Westchester roster was 19.7!  (0.7, 2.2, 4.1, 6.3, 6.4).  SGC scored a total of 2 points to Westchester’s 13.   This was despite our first player, Janet Karabin, shooting an eagle on the par 5 third hole, and scoring an outstanding 75.  Grace Hansford, and Leslie Caruso, playing in number 2 and 4, also shot personal and season low scores.    All matches, including Vyvyan Burns, number 3 and Anne Trinklein, number 5 were decided on either the 17th or 18th hole.  It was a hard fought day with admirable results, even if we didn’t earn the points.

SGC is currently tied for third in Series 2 after three of five matches.
